Student Council at A Lovely School
At A Lovely School, we are committed to empowering all pupils to understand and engage with our modern British political system. Our redesigned Student Council ensures that every student has a voice in shaping our school community.
Here's how it works:
At A Lovely School, each pupil is part of a 'Ministry' led by a teacher, focusing on specific school development areas identified through pupil feedback and our School Improvement Plan. Weekly Friday meetings allow pupils from Year 3 to Year 6 to discuss ideas and create Action Plans for projects.
Every half term, Ministries select one member to attend the Ministry of Leadership Meeting with the Pupil Leadership Team, Senior Leadership Team, and possibly governors or the Friends of School Association. Students present their ideas and project updates.
Our Student Council promotes democratic values and British Values like Democracy, The Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, Tolerance, and Equality. Topics such as Women's Suffrage and the legislative process are explored to engage and educate students.
